“Images… once they are fixed in words, are erased. On the other hand, once you have seen what the words say, it is impossible to unsee.” – Italo Calvino
This exhibition uses Italo Calvino’s Invisible Cities as a textual reference to portray, interpret and represent the complexity and diversity of the urban landscape, with Hong Kong as a representation of the imaginary cities in Calvino’s book.
The photos and illustrations in the exhibition are realised by the Master of Architecture students at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, as part of their individual assignments for the course “Urban Design and Planning” taught by Prof. Francesco Rossini.
Opening Reception: 17 May 2017, 5:30 pm.
